20 Detox Water Recipes To Lose Weight And Flush Out Toxins

There are two main reasons to make detox water. The first one is to lose weight. The second is to flush out toxins, and that one is closely related to the first one.

Drinking detox water makes you look and feel healthier. There is no better way to flush toxins than drinking water. The recommended dose is 6 to 8 glasses per day, and the same applies to detox and plain water as well.

There are many things that you can add to your water to boost its taste, flavor, and health benefits. Any combination of fruits and vegetables will enrich your water.

However, let’s talk about how to make detox water, and what should you put in there. There are many recipes out there, but we’ve collected the best among them.

How To Make Detox Water

The basic and simple recipe for every detox water is the same:

  1. Drop all the ingredients at the bottom of a fruit infuser bottle or a pitcher.
  2. Cover with ice to about half of the pitcher.
  3. And then top with water.
  4. Place in the fridge for one hour, and then serve. You can refill the container two to three times with water before it loses flavor.

That being said, let’s take a look at several recipes.

1. Apple Cinnamon Detox Water

According to many experts in the field, the apple cinnamon detox water is one of the first and original recipes.

Audrey Johns from “Lose Weight By Eating” is the one that came up with the recipe in 2012. Since then, detox water has taken over the world. The apples and cinnamon in the recipe make it feel like autumn any day of the year.

For this detox recipe, you’ll need:

  • 1 apple;
  • 1 cinnamon stick.

Cut the apple in thin slices, and cut away the seeds. Put them in a pitcher, and top with water. Do not use powdered cinnamon as it clogs the water.

2. Slim Down Detox Recipe

As mentioned at the beginning, any combination of fruits and vegetables will work for your detox water. So, why not go for the green?

The combination of lemons and cucumber works great. The tartness of the lemons is a perfect balance to the taste of cucumbers. For this recipe, you’ll need:

  • ½ lemon, sliced;
  • ½ lime, sliced;
  • ½ grapefruit, sliced;
  • 1 cup cucumber, sliced.

3. Blueberry Detox Water

Blueberry contains more antioxidants than any other fruit on the market. The recipe makes the water taste delicious, and provides your body with a healthy dose of vitamin C. All of that increases your metabolism and helps you burn more fat.

Here is the full ingredients list:

  • 2 mandarin oranges;
  • ½ cup of blueberries.

4. Watermelon Mint Detox Water

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup of strawberries;
  • 4 cups of watermelon;
  • 6 springs mint, crushed.

5. Strawberry Grapefruit Detox Water

Strawberry goes well with almost any other fruit. It all comes down to what you want. This recipe is a little tweak on the classic lemons and cucumber recipe.

  • 2 cups of fresh strawberries;
  • 2 whole grapefruits, sliced;
  • Mint leaves to taste.

6. Pineapple Lime Detox Water
