How To Stick To Your New Year’s Resolution

How To Stick To Your New Year’s Resolution

The new year has just started and on January you will see that treadmills will gonna be all full and you’ll have to wait on line to get on them. January it’s gonna be insane for the gym.

Many people are making their New Year’s resolutions going to the gym and thinking they’ll lose a “tone of weight” but by the end of January they’re out, they’re done.

I think you need to take this momentum to your advantage. Get excited for the new year! There’s only one January this year, so you can treat it like an ordinary month, or you can treat it like a new year for a NEW YOU.

New Year’s Resolution

The difference between you and the people who are just saying they’re gonna do stuff is that you’re actually gonna do it!

You can do it because you have all the support you need! Even if your family or friends don’t understand your fit lifestyle, there are numerous people in the health and fitness community who:

  • are there for you and are just like you;
  • will sustain you with advice and tips;
  • will learn new things along with you;
  • are addicted to a healthy lifestyle.

So here are my 4 tips for sticking to your New Year’s resolution:

1. Write Down Your Goals

I’m serious about this. I want you to physically take out a piece of paper and write down what do you want to achieve this week, this month, this year, whatever it is.

For example write down “I’m going to run at least 3 times a week”, or something like that and sign it. This is a contract between you and yourself. Because you’re not competing against anyone else, this is your own journey.

Then take that piece of paper and paste it on your bathroom wall because I know you have to get up every morning to brush your teeth. This way you will look at it every morning, you will focus and you’ll be on track.

2. Set Smaller Goals

A lot of people starting in January 1st are telling me that they’ll have crazy goals like “I’m gonna run a marathon by the end of the month”. Too big, too much!

If you don’t do it, you feel like a failure. And once you feel like a failure, you lose your confidence, don’t believe in yourself and you’re just don’t gonna do anything.

You’ve gotta take baby steps. So tell me, what do you want to achieve today? Just get your butt to the gym and do it. Just pick a random workout from our workout section and finish the routine. That’s it, one step at a time!

If you look at it small steps at a time, at the end of the year everything is gonna come together and you’re gonna look back and say “WOW, look at what I’ve achieved!”

3. Delete Negative People And Things

So if you are really pro into eating chips, if they’re in front of your face, take them out of your sight.

Do not buy potato chips and leave them on the counter if you know you’re gonna eat them. Don’t buy junk food, keep your refrigerator clean so that you can eat clean.

Why put booby traps around you? Why do you need to make this fitness journey harder for you? You don’t! Make it easy for you, make it motivating.

Another thing that you should take out of your life is negative people. If you have friends or relatives who don’t support you on your weight loss journey or on your get fit journey, then you don’t need to talk to them.

I know this may be kind of hard for those of you who are living at home with your mom and dad and they have unhealthy habits.

Well, one thing you can do is try to inspire and encourage them to do this with you so that they become a part of your nourishing environment.

4. Bet On Your Success

You actually have the control to win your money back or more.

You can use DietBet, which is basically a community of people who want to lose weight and are serious about it. They all put down $25 and say “I’m gonna lose 4% of my weight in 4 weeks”.

If you are 150 pounds you need to lose 6 pounds in 28 days to make your money back and more.

So you can actually make money and lose weight at the same time. How exciting is that?

Make this month matter, make this year matter! Because it’s all about you. If you’ve never thought that you can achieve your New Year’s resolution and feel energized and positive all the time, well we’re here for you and trust me, you can do it!

Tell me what your New Year’s resolutions are in the comments below and seriously, don’t make it crazy, make something you can actually do. Stay fit!
