This stain mixture works well both on coloured clothes as well as white clothes and doesn’t harm any way. Instead, it removes the oh-so-disgusting-stains and makes it ready for another workout.

Things you will need:

  • Hydrogen peroxide;
  • Baking soda;
  • Your favourite dish soap.

The preparation:

  1. Mix 1 part of the dish soap with 2 parts of hydrogen peroxide, 1 part of baking soda and 1 part water.
  2. Apply it directly on the concerned area and scrub a little with an old toothbrush.
  3. Let it stay there for an hour.
  4. Once it is done, wash it with water or launder as usual.

Why Is It So Effective?

Hydrogen peroxide is an oxidising agent that helps to bleach clothes very effectively. Baking soda is an alkali agent that helps to remove stains and your regular dish soap is good for cleaning.

When all of these are mixed together, it forms a powerful stain remover that works a miracle on your clothes to remove those stubborn pits stains. It works both on white clothes and coloured clothes.

I tried it myself and didn’t experience even a bit of color fade effects. Thus, it is an effective way of how to get rid of pit stains, but it might not work for everyone.

It definitely works for me, but if for some reason it won’t work for you, the hydrogen peroxide is not the only method that is available.

If you are wondering about how to get rid of pit stains, then aspirin is the answer for you. Crush two of them and mix it with half a cup of warm water. Soak the stained area in that mixture for 2-3 hours and see the stains disappear.

Don’t give up hope of removing the stains from your gym clothes until you try salt. Combine 4 tablespoons for salt with 1 litre of water and apply on the yellow area. Scrub the affected area until it vanishes.

Applying vinegar directly on to the stains and then laundering it is an effective way to get rid of those yellow stains. Its acidic nature helps to drive away the stain. Even lemon is as effective as vinegar. It also drives away the smell.

5. Ammonia

Ammonia can be used to remove all sorts of stains, be it a sweat, blood or any other kind. Use the diluted mixture of ammonia and water and dab the solution onto the stain on the clothes, before washing it.

How To Avoid Pit Stains On Your Gym Clothes?
