Best Cardio Exercise To Get Lean And Ripped

Some of you may not want to get big, muscular and ripped like a bodybuilder, you want to get a slim fit body with some lean muscles. All you have to do to get the skinny, lean and ripped body is high intensity cardio. And the best cardio exercise, the best high intensity cardio exercise is jumping rope.

I’ve lost over 60 pounds in just 2 months following this simple program, which include jumping rope, clean eating and a few bodyweight exercises.

Losing Weight With The Best Cardio Exercise

When I start out I could jump rope no more than 30 seconds straight before the legs, chest and shoulders were burning. But I worked my way up to do 30 sets of 1 minute jumping rope with 1 minute rest in between sets. I followed this workout 5-6 days a week.

Some days I’ve done 6 sets of 5 minute jumping rope with 2-3 minutes rest in between sets. The main thing is that I was always jumping rope for 30 minutes, not including the rest periods.

The great thing about high intensity cardio is that you can do it with all kind of moves: jogging, stair climbing, running etc. Whatever cardio you’re doing, you can make it high intensity, but because I did jumping rope and I know it’s the best cardio exercise, I will gonna suggest jumping rope.

Building Lean Muscles

After I built my way up and I was able to do at least 20 minutes of jumping rope a day, I also did some bodyweight exercises ( push-ups, sit ups, crunches, pull ups, squats or lunges ) for about 10 minutes. I did these bodyweight exercises to build some muscle, because to get lean and ripped it’s not enough just to lose weight.

With this program you will lose MINIMUM 4 pounds per week. Now if you do the math you’ll see that this is not even close to losing 60 pounds in 2 months, but I’ve lost that much because I’ve restricted my calorie intake to 1500 – 2000 calories per day ( instead of 2500 which is the recommended calorie intake for men ).

Eating Clean

So my method to get lean and ripped wasn’t the healthiest out there, but it worked! And trust me, I’ve learned from my mistakes, that’s why I don’t recommend you to restrict your calorie intake too much. Stay with the recommended calorie intake per day ( for men 2500, for women 2000 ) and you’ll be losing weight the healthy way.

If you’re thinking, just by doing 30 minutes of jumping rope you’re gonna be burning over 500 calories and because it’s high intensity training, you’re gonna be burning calories even after you’re done working out. Isn’t it amazing?
