Obesity, type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, certain cancers, osteoporosis and dental disease are listed in the World Health Organization reports. Nutritional transition theory explains the increasing number of diseases by major changes in human nutrition.
Animal foods have gained a greater consumption, fruit and vegetables consumption decreased and were replaced with whole grain refined derivatives. All the above statements are correct and clear messages popularized in recent decades through public education campaigns. Percentages shown are up from previous editions of the study, which indicates a trend change for a better life.
Physical activity is also slight increased, citizens are increasingly aware that moderate exercise is essential for their health.
