The Latest Skin Care Treatments Available

If you want a young-looking skin, exercises and a healthy diet just aren’t enough. So you must be aware of the latest skin care treatments.

With beauty trends focussing heavily on nature, sustainability, and simplicity, the invasive treatments of the past few years are getting a makeover this year to provide better and more effective treatments for glowing and healthy-looking skin.

Chemical peels, micro-needling, and mesotherapy are still popular “tweakments” – non-surgical procedures that improve skin without plastic surgery.

Cutting edge technology allows professionals to deliver even better skin care treatments nowadays than plastic surgery could in the past years.

Chemical Peel Treatments

While its popularity and rivalry with exfoliators as the ultimate go-to treatment for glowing skin started a few years back, chemical peel treatments are better than ever. It has seen a rise in popularity for “at home” peels.

But for stronger treatments using a concentration of glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid, and trichloracetic acid, Healthline advises a visit a trained specialist. This is one of the courses in cutting edge beauty offered by Emma Coates Training.

Grazia Magazine explains that there is a big difference between a peal and a facial. While a facial cleans and brightens the skin, a peal is used to treat underlying skin conditions like acne, dehydration, dead skin, red marks, and dullness.

Slowly but surely through the introduction of hyaluronic acid and glycolic acid products, the effects of a feel – the removal of make-up debris, the feeling of smooth bright skin – are seeping into people’s at-home routines. However, facials remain far more popular and far more readily available treatment,” Grazia Magazine adds.

Spaseekers explain that the majority of peels offered within medical spa environments are designed to remove entire layers of dead skin cells.

This targets much deeper levels of the skin than an “at home” treatment would do and would have better results.

They add that apart from a chemical peel facial, there are also laser peel facials that offer similar results.

Harper’s Bazaar includes laser therapy in their list of cutting-edge must-have skin care treatments, including the use of “IPL (to rid of any broken capillaries, rosacea, and acne) and ResurfaceFX laser (to resurface lackluster skin) – capped off with vitamin C to speed up any downtime.

Skin Care Treatments Involving Precious Metals And Stones

Precious metals and stones are big nowadays and also translated into the latest cutting edge skincare according to the UK Spa Industry’s trends.

Silver, gold, and amber are very trendy right now as are other products and treatments like Himalayan salt scrubs, amber powder peeling, amber massages.

Facial rollers using semi-precious stones are also popular.

Masks using 24-carat gold flecks were introduced in select UK spas recently. But the use of gold in skin care is nothing new and have been used for centuries to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin elasticity, improve blood circulation, and brighten the skin.

Liz Hambleton, writing for Net-a-Porter, said models are using gold face masks for “pre-makeup as it loaded with gold nanoparticles and vitamin C which nourishes the skin, tightens pores, de-puffs the skin and leaves the skin laced in pretty gold sheen.” She adds that several facialists swear by the powers of the gold face mask.

Deep Mesotherapy

Traditionally mesotherapy was a series of skin care treatments where a cocktail of antioxidants and vitamins were injected into your skin.

Harper’s Bazaar, however, reports that in an exciting update to the highly effective treatment dermatologist Dr. Frances Prenna-Jones added hyaluronic acid to plump the skin.

Known as “deep-mesotherapy”, this targets deeper layers of the skin, it was reported, and while a bit more uncomfortable, it leads to better results.

Beauty blog Byrdie adds that mesotherapy was expected to become particularly popular in combination with other treatments like Botox and fillers.

They quote Prenna-Jones explaining that mesotherapy will improve the texture of the skin where Botox is used and will stimulate collagen and elastin to improve plumpness.

Micro-Needling

Microneedling involves the use of multiple tiny, sterile needles to puncture the skin and cause physical trauma that in turn prompts the skin to rebuild.

It has been proven as an effective treatment to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scarring, acne, and skin pigmentation.

According to Medical News Today, it may also help rejuvenate the skin and assist professionals to deposit treatments like Vitamin C deeper into the skin.

The latest development in skin care treatments involving micro-needling is the development of painless patches that does the same job with fewer side-effects.

But while hugely promising, experts still advise a visit to a trained facialist as the damage caused by the micro-needles is what stimulates the skin into “repair mode” and allows for active ingredients to penetrate deep into the skin, according to Refinery29.

In the past two years, DIY dermarollers became widely available on the market but experts warned that was dangerous in untrained hands and could do more damage than good.

With that being said, nowadays it’s easier than ever to take care of your skin. Besides eating healthy and exercising regularly, these skin care treatments are an added plus for young looking skin.
