How Much To Exercise To Burn Off Most Popular Junk Foods

Has the nutrition label ever stopped you from eating the whole bag of potato chips? But what if instead of the nutrition label with calories and grams of fat, you saw how many minutes you would have to exercise to burn those chips off. Pretty scary, right?

Most Popular Junk Foods

To give you an idea of how terrible our food choices can be, we’ve listed below 8 of the most popular junk foods in US. From a McDonald’s Big Mac to the KFC chicken, here are 8 most popular junk foods and the amount of exercise you’d need to perform to burn them off.

1. McDonald’s Big Mac

This burger has 490 calories and contains 24g fat, which means about a quarter of your recommended daily intake. To burn this off, you need to perform 40-50 minutes of cardio, or about one hour of weight training.

2. McDonald’s French Fries (Large)

The large portion of French fries from McDonald’s has 460 calories and contains 22g fat, which means about a quarter of your recommended daily intake. To burn this off, you need to perform 40-50 minutes of cardio, or about one hour of weight training.

3. Coca-Cola Can (330ml)

A can of coke has 139 calories, but doesn’t contain any fat. To burn it off, you need to perform about 15 minutes of cardio, or about 20 minutes of weight training.

If you get yourself a big menu from McDonald’s (that would be a Big Mac, French fries and a Coke), you should run on the treadmill for about 2 hours to burn it off. Not an easy task, right? Also, the calories you get from this menu should keep you satisfied for more than half of the day, which I’m pretty sure won’t happen.

4. Pizza Express Margherita

One full Pizza Express Margherita has 682 calories and contains 22g fat, which means more than a quarter of your recommended daily intake. To burn this off, you need to perform 60-70 minutes of cardio, or about one and a half hours of weight training. Is it worth it? I guess not really…

5. KFC Kicken (3 Pieces)

With just 3 pieces of KFC chicken your body gets about 726 calories and 42g fat, which is way too much fat for a single meal. To burn this off, you need to perform about 75 minutes of cardio, or about 1 hour and 40 minutes of weight training.

Also, I’m pretty sure you can’t find a KFC menu with less than 4 pieces, so there are more calories to add.

If you’re considering a medium KFC menu with 5 chicken pieces, a medium portion of French fries, a sauce and a 400ml coke, I’m pretty sure this covers almost your entire calorie intake for a day. And since you’ll get more fat than it is recommended for a single day, you should workout and also live the rest of the day without eating any more food. Could you?

6. Cadbury’s Dairy Milk Bar (45g)

This chocolate bar has 237 calories and contains 14g fat, which is pretty much for such a small snack. To burn this off, you need to perform about 20 minutes of cardio, or 30 minutes of weight training.

7. Stella Artois Beer (1 Pint)

One pint of beer has 245 calories and doesn’t contain fat. Even if this doesn’t seem too much, be careful with the number of beers you’re drinking and limit to 1-2 pints if you really don’t have any other choice.

To burn off one pint of beer, you need to perform 20-25 minutes of cardio, or about 30 minutes of weight training.

This chocolate cake is a caloric bomb, counting 1710 calories. Also, it contains 90g fat, which is more than the recommended daily intake. To burn this off, you need to perform about 3 hours of cardio, or about 4 hours of weight training. But you couldn’t eat it all in a single day, right?!
